Powdery mildew of garlic Allium sativum L., tomato Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. and Brussels sprouts Brassica oleracea L., var. gemmifera Zenker

, : Powdery mildew of garlic Allium sativum L., tomato Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. and Brussels sprouts Brassica oleracea L., var. gemmifera Zenker. Ernstia 4(3-4): 107-116

Sample of tomato cv. Kada F-2 and Brussels sprouts with symptoms of powdery mildew from experimental plots at the Bajo Seco Experimental Station, Agronomy Faculty (U.C.V.) and samples of garlic with powdery mildew from Experimental Station of FUSAGRI, Cagua were analyzed taking into account disease symptomatology and microscopical fungus structures. Taxonomic affinity was established based upon conidiophores and conidia characteristics with remark on mode of conidial germination. Descriptions and illustrations were prepared for all the fungus studied. Upon these results Leveillula taurica (Lev) Arn. was identified as causal agent of garlic powdery mildew, Erysiphe poligoni sensu Salmon as causal agent of Brussels sprout powdery mildew and E. cichoracearum as tomato powdery mildew pathogen.
