The insect fauna associated with the tree Myrica faya (Myricaceae) in the Macaronesia Islands and on Mainland Portugal

, : The insect fauna associated with the tree Myrica faya (Myricaceae) in the Macaronesia Islands and on Mainland Portugal. Boletim do Museu Municipal do Funchal 0(SUPPL. 4): 411-420

Myrica faya AITON, a plant native to the Macaronesia Islands, has been accidentally introduced to Hawaii where it has become a serious pest of our forests and other native ecosystems. Since the 1950's, an intensive survey of the insects associated with this plant has been conducted in those islands. The goal was to identify those that may be potential biocontrol agents that could be released in Hawaii.
