The types and subtypes of established mouse thymic stromal cell lines identified by monoclonal antibodies

, : The types and subtypes of established mouse thymic stromal cell lines identified by monoclonal antibodies. Zhonghua Weishengquxue He Mianyixue Zazhi 14(3): 149-152

Two sources of McAbs specific against MTSC have been used to identify eight lines of MTSC established in our laboratory. The MTS series McAbs (donated by Dr. Boyd. R) could define five of eight lines into medullary-type and cortical-medullary-type thymic epithelial cells. The other three lines could not be characterized. By using MTSC-specific McAbs prepared in our laboratory, all seven mouse thymic epithelial cell (MTEC) lines could be defined. Of which, two were medullary-type MTEC, five, cortical-medullary-type MTEC. Both medullary and cortical-medullary types of MTEC could be further divided into subtypes according to the distinct antigenic epitopes they expressed. We also found that mouse thymic dendritic cell line (MTSC4) shared antigenic epitopes with all the MTEC established. Thus, the established 8 lines of MTSC could be defined into types and subtypes by using our prepared MTSC-specific McAbs, and hence, our prepared McAbs could recognize more antigenic epitopes on MTSC than MTS McAbs did.
