Ectopic ureterocele in a male adult

, : Ectopic ureterocele in a male adult. Rinsho Hinyokika 52(11): 841-843, Oct

A 45-year-old male was referred to us because of suspected bladder tumor with right hydronephrosis. Cystoscopy revealed a bulge with normal mucosa from the right orifice to verumontanum. US and CT showed bilateral double ureters and a megaureter from the right upper renal pelvis to the posterior bladder wall. IP and renal scintigraphy demonstrated that the right upper half kidney had no function. Under diagnosis of right ectopic ureterocele, we performed heminephrectomy without resection of the wall of ureterocele. No eventful or involution of the ureterocele was recognized in ten months-postoperative course.
