Folia Entomologica Mexicana (110): 23-32

The mexican bean beetle Epilachnaa varivestis Mulsant (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) was susceptible to the phototoxic action of phloxine B, which was formulated with Tween-60 1.0%, polyethylene glycol 1.0%, soybean oil soap 0.1%, fructose 3.0% and water. Larvae and adults were fed on bean leaves treated with this formulation at different phloxine B concentrations. The bioassays were carried out under shade, and at open sky conditions.
