The possibility of controling budbreak of Hayward with a bud dormancy breaking agent: Hidrogen cyanamide, and its particular effects at the climatic conditions of the Northwest of Spain are tested. The application of Hidrogen cyanamide to Kiwi plants has a marked influence, advancing the date of budbreak and flowering and modifying the dinamic of budbreak. Some collateral effects, such as differences in the phosphorus and calcium contents of leaves and fruits, are observed.
