Naturalia (Rio Claro) 25: 271-280

Diatraea saccharalis larvae (Fabr.) were separated individualy and parasitized by Cotesia flavipes (Cam.). Each larvae of D. saccharalis was allowed to receive one to five ovipositions. A different female of C. flavipes was used to each oviposition. The number of masses of C. flavipes, the sex-ratio and the number of emerged parasitoids have been compared in these five experimental conditions (one to five ovipositions). The results revealed that as the number of successive ovipositions in the host increased, it decreased the proportion of success of the number of masses, however, these did not present alterations in the sex-ratio, and the number of parasitoids that resulted from the larvae that received one or two ovipositions had no difference between each other.
