The purpose of our experiment was to evaluate the influence of 1,2,4-triazol compound CA-17 (1-(2-furanoil)-3(3,4-dimethoxiphenyl)-5-buthylthio-1,2,4-triazol) on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems of the rabbit. The control and three experiments with the different (25, 50, 75 mg/kg) CA-17 doses were performed on each animal. During the experiment electrocardiogram (ECG) and pattern of respiration were recorded. One-minute records separated by five-minute intervals have been collected throughout the experiment. Electrocardiogram R-wave frequency was analyzed to evaluate CA-17 influence on the cardiovascular system of the rabbit. Following parameters were used to evaluate pattern of respiration: frequency of respiration, duration and volume of inhale and exhale. Analysis of results revealed that: 1) CA-17 caused statistically significant (P<0.05) increase in heart rate and reduction of respiration frequency as compared to control; 2) tested compound had no influence on respiratory volume; 3) the most effective dose out of our investigation was 75 mg/kg.
