Mortalidad de huevos y larvas de Anastrepha obliqua (Macquart) y A. ludens (Loew) (Diptera: Tephritidae) en atmosferas controladas y temperatura alta en mango (Mangifera indica) cv. 'Manila'

, : Mortalidad de huevos y larvas de Anastrepha obliqua (Macquart) y A. ludens (Loew) (Diptera: Tephritidae) en atmosferas controladas y temperatura alta en mango (Mangifera indica) cv. 'Manila'. Folia Entomologica Mexicana (109): 43-53

The controlled atmosphere (CA) of 0% O2 + 50% CO2 during 160 min at several temperatures was evaluated on the mortality of eggs and larvae of Anastrepha obliqua and A. ludens in artificially and naturally infested 'Manila' mango fruits. Both species were simultaneously exposed to different treatments. Fruits artificially infested with third-instar larvae were exposed at CA at 35, 37, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48 and 49[degree]C. Fruits naturally infested with first-instar larvae were exposed at the CA at 37, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44 and 45[degree]C. Fruits infested with 48-h eggs were treated with the CA at 37, 39, 40, 42, 43[degree]C and air at 43[degree]C. The CA applied at [gtoreq] 39[degree]C caused the 100% mortality of third stadium of both species. The CA applied at [gtoreq] 40[degree]C effected the 100% mortality of eggs and first stadium larvae, same mortality was recorded with only air at 43[degree]C. It was concluded that the CA (0% O2 + 50% CO2) applied at temperature greater than 40[degree]C during 160 min caused 100% of mortality on eggs and larvae of A. obliqua and A. ludens in infested Manila mango fruits.
