Voltage of AC source oscillates regularly at 50 or 60 Hz and fluctuates irregularly, so that light intensity of light source also oscillates and fluctuates. Organisms possibly sense such fluctuations and reflect on their photobehavior. Therefore, the fluctuations should be eliminated in the measurements of photobehavior. In the present study, the direction of orientation of Blepharisma against incident light was examined, using a light source stabilized by AC stabilizer and electric circuit for rectification. Present results showed that the cells can reorientate away from the light source.
