Ultrasonographic diagnosis of cervical lymph node metastasis

, : Ultrasonographic diagnosis of cervical lymph node metastasis. Zhongguo Chaosheng Yixue Zazhi 17(12): 921-923

Objective: To find which sonographic features to be good indicators for metastatic cervical lymph nodes. Methods: Two hundred and ten cervical lymph nodes were assessed retrospectively with univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Results: At univariate analysis, all sonographic features assessed were found to be important. As multivariate analysis, however, it suggested that the heterogeneous internal echo and increases of short axis length were predictive for metastatic nodes, and presence of hilar flow was predictive for reactive lymph nodes. Conclusions: Increasing in short axis length, heterogeneous internal echo and presence of hilar flow were most predictive for metastatic or cervical reactive lymph nodes in the sonographic criteria assessed by logistic regression analysis.
