De vanligste infeksjoner hos importert akvariefisk: En mulig trussel mot norsk fauna

, : De vanligste infeksjoner hos importert akvariefisk: En mulig trussel mot norsk fauna. Norsk Veterinaertidsskrift 115(10): 639-649

An examination of 1283 ornamental fish imported to Norway, mainly from countries in Southeast Asia, revealed many different pathogenic bacteria and parasites. In addition to causing considerable losses, these infectious organisms may be spread to private aquaria and garden ponds. This implies increased risk for spread to wild and farmed fish and such spread may have already occurred in Norway. Reduced antibiotic sensitivity has been shown for bacteria in imported ornamental fish.
