Respiratory modulation of the autonomic nervous system during Cheyne-Stokes respiration

, : Respiratory modulation of the autonomic nervous system during Cheyne-Stokes respiration. Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology 84(1): 61-66

Cheyne-Stokes respiration (CSR) is associated with increased mortality among patients with heart failure. However, the specific link between CSR and mortality remains unclear. One possibility is that CSR results in excitation of the sympathetic nervous system.

The recognition and lysis of virus-infected mouse cells by cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL) requires that both viral and H-2 antigens be present on the target cell membrane. This recognition is highly specific for the viral and H-2K/D antigens. Thus,...

Retrotransposons tune immune reactivity in differentiated cells because when they are transcribed, their nucleic acids can be viewed as non-self leading to innate immune sensing.
