Changes of antioxidant enzymes in endosperm subjected to complete submergence in rice cultivars differing in anaerobic seeding tolerance

, : Changes of antioxidant enzymes in endosperm subjected to complete submergence in rice cultivars differing in anaerobic seeding tolerance. Plant Archives 6(1): 89-91

The activities of antioxidant enzymes were studied in rice cultivars susceptible (IR 42; poor capacity for seedling establishment under anaerobic conditions) or tolerant (Panikekoa and T 1471; good capacity for seedling establishment under anaerobic conditions) of submergence. The seeds of the cultivars were submerged in water for 7 days, and the amount of dissolved oxygen levels in water was evaluated after 1, 3, 5 and 7 days of submergence.
