Characteristics and performance of a new water-absorbent slow release nitrogen fertilizer

, : Characteristics and performance of a new water-absorbent slow release nitrogen fertilizer. Scientia Agricultura Sinica 39(10): 2048-2055

A study was conducted on the characterization and performance of water-absorbent slow release nitrogen fertilizer (WASRNF), which was prepared by chemical polymerization, physical and chemical methods. Investigation, interpretation and measurements were done with infrared spectroscopy, scanning electronic microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry analysis. The water-absorbency and nitrogen content of WASRNF was 103 g/g and 30%, respectively.
