Brassica oleracea L. is now regarded as a group species composed of the following smaller species (coenospecies): B. capitata (L) Lizg., B. sabauda (L) Lizg., B. gemmifera (Zenker) Lizg., B. cauliflora (Miller) Lizg., B. caulorapa Pasq., and B. sub-spontanea Lizg. The second Far-East group is represented by B. chinensis L. and B. pekinensis Rupr.
