Deterioration in the Potato

, : Deterioration in the Potato. Bull. Canterbury agric. Coll, Lincoln, 94, 2

Degeneration in potatoes in New Zealand is mainly due to virus diseases, including leaf roll, mosaic, crinkle, and stipple streak, but also to Verticillium albo-atrum, Erwinia atroseptica, and Bacterium solanacearum. Actinomyces, Spongospora subterranea, and Corticium solani may so disfigure the tubers as to render them unmarketable.
