Estimation of vitamin A in butter

, : Estimation of vitamin A in butter. Lancet 221(5640): 758-759

The method previously described by the authors for the estimation of vitamin A in cod-liver oils also gives consistent results in the esti-mation of vitamin A in butters and margarines. This is-of value, for the testing of different amounts of butter involves the giving of different amounts of fat, in addition to the fat-free diet employed in this method, whereas the testing of different doses of cod-liver oils has always been carried out by diluting, so that the required dose is contained in the same amount (19-21 mgm.) of olive oil.
