Folic acid

, : Folic acid. Brit. med. J, July 21st. 91:

This short annotation on a few recent papers summarizes the present incomplete knowledge of folic acid, which is a member of the vitamin B complex and occurs most commonly in green leaves, but also in liver and other rich sources of B vitamins. It is a growth factor for Streptococcus lactis R and may be identical with vitamin Bc, the anti-anaemia factor for chicks.
