Further studies on the nutritive value of alcoholextracted animal tissues and the supplements required for growth and lactation

, : Further studies on the nutritive value of alcoholextracted animal tissues and the supplements required for growth and lactation. J. Biol. Chem, 105: Ixxvii

Alcohol extracted beef heart, kidney, round and liver tissues incorporated at a 15 per cent, protein level in a ration adequate in the recognised factors necessary for normal nutrition were found to be less efficient for growth than were the whole dried tissues fed at the same level of protein intake. Growth was poorest on extracted liver. The growth of nurslings of mothers was also unsatisfactory and mortality high on extracted liver.

VP16-H is an essential structural protein of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and is also a potent activator of virus immediate-early (IE) gene expression. Current models of functional determinants within VP16-H indicate that it consists of two...

The impact of planetary mill pretreatment on corn stover size, crystallinity, and enzyme digestibility was investigated based on the grinding ball properties in an effort to reduce energy consumption. Alumina, zirconia, and steel balls were used,...

Acute renal failure (ARF) in rats is associated with increased amino acid release from peripheral tissues and insulin resistance.
