Barn rot of tobacco caused by Rhizopus arrhizus and yellow mould caused by Aspergillus flavus are reported to have been fairly prevalent in the barns in Southern Rhodesia in 1938 during curing, owing to high humidity, insufficient aeration, and close packing.
