R. records, without details, the experimental transmission of A. ovis and Th. recondita to sheep and goats by O. lahorensis. These infections had previously been shown to be capable of transmission from sheep to sheep by R. bursa, which also transmits " Piroplasma ovis", " Babesiella ovis", and " Francaiella ovis".
