, : On the occurrence and spread of the ring spot disease of Lettuce caused by Marssonina panattoniana (Berl.) Magn. J. Pomol, 17: 1, 27-50

Investigations into lettuce ring spot (Marssonina panattoniana showed it to be an important disease of winter lettuce in England, frequently causing marked reduction in the quantity and quality of the crop. It is seldom, if ever, found on lettuces headed out under glass, and is of minor importance on those grown in frames during winter and planted out in spring.
