Physiological behaviour of the trioses. Increase in liver glycogen after feeding methyl-glyoxal, pyruvic acid and glycerie aldehyde

, : Physiological behaviour of the trioses. Increase in liver glycogen after feeding methyl-glyoxal, pyruvic acid and glycerie aldehyde. Hoppe-Seyler's Ztschr. f. physiol. Chem, 206: 15-24; 211-216

A deposition of liver glycogen was observed after feeding methyl-glyoxal, pyruvic acid or glyceric aldehyde to fasting rats. Excessive amounts of methyl-glyoxal, however, caused a fall in liver glycogen.

In this study, the crystallization and preliminary X-ray analysis of a thermostable 1,3-1,4-beta-glucanase produced by Paecilomyces thermophila is described. The purified 1,3-1,4-beta-glucanase was crystallized using the hanging-drop vapour-diffus...
