Powdery mildew of Lespedeza

, : Powdery mildew of Lespedeza. Phytopath 30(7): 620-621

A powdery mildew observed on various strains of annual lespedeza at Arlington, Va., was identified as Microsphaera diffusa. The disease usually has developed too late in the season to cause serious losses, but it causes some premature defoliation. Greenhouse data and field observations show strains of L. striata to be more susceptible than are strains of L. stipulacea.
