Pregnancy diagnosis in the mare from the blood serum

, : Pregnancy diagnosis in the mare from the blood serum. Rev. gen. Med. vet, 34: 321-336

ASCHHEIM-ZONDEK tests were made on 140 pregnant and 149 non-pregnant mares. Tests during the 6th-15th week of pregnancy showed only 1.3% of error. Among non-pregnant animals there were 3 doubtful cases, but abortion appears probable. Friedman's method with the rabbit was tried on 234 mares and gave satisfactory results, provided the rabbits were not under 1400 gm. in weight.
