Researches on the 'Monachello' Lemon variety

, : Researches on the 'Monachello' Lemon variety. Boll. Staz. Pat. veg. Roma, 17: 3, 293-304

A survey of the lemon groves in the vicinity of Messina, where 'mal secco' disease (Deuterophoma tracheiphila) has been present for many years, showed that practically all the fully grown Monachello trees (of which about 40 were found) were in a very good vegetative condition though other varieties in their immediate proximity had either disappeared or had become severely affected. In one locality(much neglected and exposed to the wind), however, the Monachello trees were appreciably diseased.
