Some varietal differences in wireworm injury to potatoes

, : Some varietal differences in wireworm injury to potatoes. Amer Potato Jour 20(6): 156-158

Small but significant differences in wireworm injury have been observed among some of the potato vars. commonly grown in regions infested by the eastern field wireworm, Limonius agonus. Although all of the vars. grown in the exptl. trials were subject to wireworm attack, some vars. appeared to be more susceptible than others. No basic reason for these differences is evident. Apparently maturity is not a factor as the early vars. Irish Cobbler and Warba varied widely in susceptibility to attack.
