Studies on the Nature of Immunity to Intestinal Helminths. I. The Local Nature of the Immunity of White Rats to Nippostrongylus Infection

, : Studies on the Nature of Immunity to Intestinal Helminths. I. The Local Nature of the Immunity of White Rats to Nippostrongylus Infection. Amer. J. Hyg, 22: 157-168

An immune serum, obtained from albino rats which were repeatedly inoculated subcutaneously with larvae of N. muris at intervals of seven to 14 days until the rats showed a high degree of immunity to reinfection, was injected intraperitoneally into rats which then received from 200 to 300 larvae of Nippostrongylus. Control rats of the same age (three to six months) received a normal serum from rats of the same age not infected with Nippostrongylus.
