No differences in acidity of the milk could be found due to breed, age, feed, stage of the milking process, or between morning and evening samples. In 33 samples from cows in advanced lactation 26 were normal, 6 showed a low acidity due to udder disease, and 1 sample showed a low acidity which may have been due to advanced lactation or to a tendency to disturbance of secretion as a result of chronic inflammation of the udder.
