The forms of nitrogen in infusions of corn, timothy, red clover, tobacco, and red top

, : The forms of nitrogen in infusions of corn, timothy, red clover, tobacco, and red top. Jour Agric Res 49(4): 375-378

After the infusions had stood seven weeks an analysis was made of the filtrate for total, protein. proteose, amide, alpha amino, ammonia, and humin N. All contained protein, proteose, and ammonia N. Only traces of amide, alpha amino acid and no humin N in tobacco and red top. The percentages of ammonia N computed from the total N were higher in the tobacco and red top infusions than in those of corn, timothy, and tobacco.
