THIRTY-TWO White Leghorn and Rhode Island cockerels were castrated at 30-40 days. The growth rate of the remiges and rectrices increased in the capons as compared with normal control animals, e.g. in the rectrices of the third generation by as much as 25.2% in one series, 30.2% in another. The greatest difference in the growth rates was noticed in the periods July-September and February-April, when the sexual activity of the cocks is most intense.
