Transpiration of sugar beets after additional nutrition

, : Transpiration of sugar beets after additional nutrition. Doklady Vsesojuz. Akad. Seljskohoz. Nauk, 8: 17, 9-12

The transpiration coefficient increased with a rise of moisture in sand cultures from 40 to 90 per cent. but decreased after application of mineral fertilizers during vegetation. The relative efficacy of mineral fertilizers varied with moisture; P was invariably more effective than K or N; K was more effective than N with lower moisture (40-60 per cent), but less effective than N with excessive moisture.
