Variations in fat content of milk and yield of butter

, : Variations in fat content of milk and yield of butter. Molkereiztg, Hildesh, 55: 62/63, 869-872

Producers frequently complained of unaccountable variations in the results of butterfat tests made on their milk delivered to creameries or control stations. Daily records were therefore kept in several herds to show the variations that actually occurred. In the bulk milk of two herds of 21 and 35 cows, during July, the average daily fat contents varied from 3.11 to 4.0 per cent., and 3.19 to 3.81 per cent. respectively.
