Can castor be grown in Senegal?

, : Can castor be grown in Senegal?. Bull. Centre Rech. Agron. Bambey, Bambey, 10/11, 124-9

Castor grows very well in Senegal. Sowing takes place in July and harvesting from December to April when the plant is normally uprooted, though it can be grown as a perennial. A variety collection was made at Bambey in 1928. Many varieties received as indehiscent proved to be dehiscent under the intense dry season conditions in Senegal.
