Cultivation of rice in Cuba.

, : Cultivation of rice in Cuba.. Rev. Min. Agric. Cuba. 29: 64-71

On clay soils with an impermeable subsoil sowing is carried out under a permanent system of flood irrigation maintaining in the soil a covering of water of approximately 6 inches. On loose soils with a permeable subsoil a system of intermittent irrigation has to be used in order to maintain the necessary humidity of the soil. The spacing of the seedlings and the amount of seed vary according to the soil.
