Development of the vitellarium and yolk sac formation in tapeworms.

, : Development of the vitellarium and yolk sac formation in tapeworms.. Dokladi Akademii Nauk SSSR, 85: 5, 1197-1199

Logachev reports on the development of vitelline glands and the formation of yolk globules in Raillietina urogalli and Taenia saginata. He concludes that the vitelline glands originate from the basophilic mesodermal parenchyme elements. In this primary layer the nuclei dissolve and protoplasmatic globules of living matter are formed. Inside these globules there appear fine granules, by fusion of which large yolk globules are formed.
