Infant morbidity and mortality in Eritrea

, : Infant morbidity and mortality in Eritrea. Boll. Soc. ital. Med. Ig.trop. (Sez. Eritrea). 9: 6, 422-28

Digestive disturbances are the cause of much morbidity and mortality amongst native babies in Eritrea. Normally infants are nursed without supplementary foods until they are 17 months old. When, as frequently happens, their mother's milk fails, they are given cows', goats', asses' or even camels' milk, all collected without any observance of hygiene.
