Nutrition and aeration in relation to the growth of Cannabis sativa

, : Nutrition and aeration in relation to the growth of Cannabis sativa. Proc. Iowa Acad. Sci, 58: 221-8. bibl. 8

Plants of Cannabis sativa were grown under a 14 hr. photoperiod in both high- and low-plane nutrient solutions containing 0.1 and 0.05% total solutes, respectively, with and without root aeration. The rooting medium was a sandy loam soil. Under conditions of a high plane of nutrition plus aeration, both male and female flowers developed at the same time; in all the other treatments, the male flowers developed before the female.
