, : The effects of domestication and selection on the behavior of the Norway rat. Journal of the National Cancer Institute 15(3): 727-738

The history of the Norway rat is traced. Norway rats, which were captured wild, and domesticated laboratory Norway rats are compared with regard to anatomy, physiology, and behaviour. Work on the pattern and mechanism of domestication is also reviewed.
