The evaluation of seed potatoes in the field, with special reference to the incidence of virus vectors. A mathematical approach

, : The evaluation of seed potatoes in the field, with special reference to the incidence of virus vectors. A mathematical approach. Zuchter, 17/18: 241-7. bibl. 4

The number of visibly diseased plants in a field of seed potatoes will not reflect the true health position, since new, as yet symptpmless, infections will remain unobserved. By taking aphid incidence into consideration a better prognosis can be made. A differential equation is suggested, which should express quantitatively the relationship between aphid incidence and spread of virus diseases.
