Aim To observe the therapeutic efficacy of Matrine on viral keratitis. Methods An experimental in vitro model of FL cell and in vivo model of rabbit corner by herpes simplex keratitis infection were established. The in vitro experiment determined cell survival rate by observing CPE and MTT effect. The in vivo experiment used different concentration of Matrine to treat the HSK,and observes the effection process. Results Matrine showed a siginificant therapeutic efficacy on HSV infectio. Conclusion Matrine may be very effective in treatment of HSK.
