Biological effect of hydroxylysine

, : Biological effect of hydroxylysine. Science 123(3196): 546-547

Small amounts of racemic hydroxylysine decreased the amount of lysine required for growth of Streptococcus faecalis. Hydroxylysine had a similar effect on Leuconostoc mesenteroides, but in large amounts it depressed growth. This inhibition of growth was eliminated when lysine was added.
