Control of tufted hair grass

, : Control of tufted hair grass. Gesunde Pflanze 9-7(11-9): 242-243

Rasenschmiele [Deschampsia caespitosal may be controlled by spot treatment with 2% sodium chlorate; however, lateral leaching may injure adjacent desirable grasses; therefore, it is recommended that a 1:4 mixture of sodium chlorate and kainite be applied dry at half to a whole handful per tuft. For large scale infestations the land should be ploughed and not resown to grass for 5 -6 years.
