Development of government data systems in American agriculture

, : Development of government data systems in American agriculture. Agr. Hist, Champaign, Ill., Apr. 33: 2, 51-57

The term 'data' refers to numerical values which are sometimes referred to as 'statistics.' The major data systems in agriculture are: (1) Static data systems which produce relatively permanent data; (2) semi-static data systems which provide data renewable at long intervals; and (3) dynamic data systems which provide short-time data. The most important static data system in the United States is that based upon the land system.
