Development of the organizational aspects of German fruit cultivation since the turn of the century. (Habilitationschr. Techn. Univ. Berlin)

, : Development of the organizational aspects of German fruit cultivation since the turn of the century. (Habilitationschr. Techn. Univ. Berlin). Die Entwicklung betriebswirtschaftlicher Vorstellungen im deutschen Obstbau seit der Jahrhundertwende, Berlin-Charlottenburg, 125

The author, basing his work on 400 publications, surveys the development and the policy underlying fruit cultivation in Germany. At the turn of the century teaching on fruit growing was dominated by such problems as tree nurseries, pruning and the classification of various types of trees, so that there was little scope left for the discussion of the general economic aspects. It was only after 1900 that economic considerations began to be taken into account.
