, : Esophageal moniliasis: report of a case with roentgenographic findings. Annals of Internal Medicine 49(3): 684-687

The roentgenological appearance of the oesophagus of a patient with leukaemia and oesophageal moniliasis (Candida albicans), X-rayed on account of dysphagia, was characterized by marked irregularity, narrowing, and rigidity. This was due to a pseudo-membrane produced by an extremely thick growth of C. albicans, which lined almost the entire oesophageal mucosa.
