Eutrophic peat as an organic fertilizer for potatoes.

, : Eutrophic peat as an organic fertilizer for potatoes.. An. Inst. Cerc. agron. Roman. 1959. 26

Application of 20-40 tons/ha air-dry peat to potatoes grown on an acid brown earth and on a degraded chernozem of neutral reaction increased yields by up to 13-18%, but was less effective than application of equal amounts of farmyard manure. Highest increase in yields (26.3 %) was obtained by a 1: 1 compost of peat and manure.
