Amounts of foods and nutrients theoretically available per person in the state in 1958 are compared with values obtained in similar surveys of north-eastern Brazil and other regions in 1954-56 and with the results of a diet study at Acu (Rio Grande do Norte) in 1959. Amounts of vegetable and animal foodstuffs produced in and imported by the state in 1958 are listed.
