Formation in gamma-irradiated potato tubers of substances that depress plant growth and development.

, : Formation in gamma-irradiated potato tubers of substances that depress plant growth and development.. Radiobiologiya. 3: 472-6

In a study of irradiation of potatoes in relation to preventing sprouting in storage, polyphenyloxidase activity in the tubers 24 hr after irradiation increased 2-fold as the dose increased from 10-50 kr. Seeds of maize, peas and beans soaked in extracts from the tubers treated with 25-50 kr were inhibited. From Nucl. Sci.
